Grid Works In The Female Collective
These explorations of color and shape juxtaposition were created upside down, one square or rectangle of the grid the only thing exposed and worked on at a time. The challenge was to see if each inverted area could stand alone as an abstract painting yet come together when each area was finished and the canvas was righted. The resulting images portray the reality of who we are: pieces that come together to make a whole, out of our control, and yet it is ours to find the beauty that each of us contains.
